Where is your shop located?

We have relocated from Spring Street to our new home at 308 King Street!

We will be closed November 3–8 while we make the move. During that time, past pickup orders will be available at 308 King Street. Engraving orders and shipping will pick back up the week of 11/10.

What’s the story behind the “goldbug” of Goldbug Collection?

Our Goldbug, also known as the Palmetto Bug, is often an unwelcome guest in Charleston, South Carolina. Taking inspiration from their entomological form & short story "The Gold-Bug" by Edgar Allen Poe, Mini has gilded these insects, elevating them to an art form that is worn often and with pride.

Do you offer in-store engraving?

Yes! You can find us engraving in the shop most Mondays-Fridays 11am-5pm. Simple engravings like monograms, initials, and dates take about 15–20 minutes.

While we engrave your piece, you can shop around or grab a coffee nearby!

Engraver not in? Don't fret! We can ship it to you!

What is a “signature charm clasp”?

Our signature charm clasp is the heart of building a charm stack! It allows you to add, swap, or mix and match charms.

Just pop it open, slip on your favorite charm (or a whole stack of them!), and you’ve got a personalized look in seconds.

A style I love is sold out, will it be restocked?

The best way to be the first to know is to click “Notify Me When Available” on the product page and pop in your email. We’ll send you a little buzz 🐝 the moment it’s back!

Most of our pieces are made in small batches and may not return - so grab it while you can!

How does the Custom Pup Process work?

Our Custom Pup Process takes about 2-4 weeks to ship - this process is a bit longer because our artist (and owner) Mini, will hand-draw your pup! When placing your order please follow these steps:

  • Upload a clear, front-facing photo of your pup.
  • Add your pup’s name in the NOTES section at checkout - we’ll use our Little Curl font for the engraving on the back of your piece.
  • Mini will hand-draw your pup and we’ll send you one proof for approval. Additional proofs will incur an extra charge of $50.
  • Want to send more than one photo? Email them to info@goldbugcollection.com with your Order # as the subject line. The more the merrier!

How does the Custom Silhouette Process work?

Custom Silhouettes take about 2-4 weeks - this process is a bit longer because our artist (and owner) Mini will hand-draw your child! When placing your order please follow these steps:

  • Upload a clear, side profile photo of your child.
  • Add your child’s first name in the NOTES section at checkout - we’ll use our Venice font for the engraving.
  • Mini will hand-draw your child and we’ll send you one proof for approval. Additional proofs will incur an extra charge of $50.
  • Submitting more than one photo? Email them to info@goldbugcollection.com with your Order # as the subject line.

Jewelry Quality & Care

What are your pieces made out of?

All of our pieces are made out of 18k yellow gold plated brass. Earring posts are plated stainless steel, crystals are CZ, and we have recently added in new pieces with genuine stones.

How do I care for my jewelry?

To keep your bugs shining their brightest, please do not shower, swim, or sleep in your Goldbugs and keep them away from sunscreens, lotions, and perfumes. If you need to clean your pieces, simply rinse with warm water and a gentle soap.

Like our live bug friends, sadly, costume jewelry doesn't live forever! We are happy to repair items within one year of purchase. Please visit our Care & Repair page for additional info.

Will my jewelry tarnish?

Like all plated jewelry, a little wear over time is normal! With love & care, your bugs will stay shining for years to come. Just keep them away from water, sweat, and harsh chemicals, and store them properly when you’re not wearing them. Following our care instructions will help keep your jewelry looking its best!

What is your return/exchange policy?

How do I check the status of my order?

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a confirmation email that includes your tracking number. If you do not receive this email, please email us at info@goldcollection.com!

I placed an online order for local pick up? When can I come get it? 

Please wait for your pickup confirmation email. Once you receive it, your order will be ready for you at our shop!

What are my shipping options?

We offer free standard shipping on orders over $200. All packages will be shipped via UPS Ground unless another shipping method is selected.

Methods and transit times:

UPS Ground: $15.00 - 5-7 business days

UPS Express: $50.00 - 1-2 business day

Expedited orders placed after 12pm EST will ship the following business day.

Where do you ship to?

We currently offer shipping within the contiguous United States. We do not ship to PO boxes or internationally.
